• The X Factor runners up JLS (which stands for Jack The Lad Swing), release their self-titled debut album, JLS. The group of four lads, made up of Ashton Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Ortise Williams and Jonathan Gill, achieved stardom in the 2008 series of X Factor reaching the final with the eventual winner Alexandra Burke.
  
  The first single release from the album, 'Beat Again', went straight to number one, with the second single 'Everybody In Love' tipped to do just as well. Their cheeky style and catchy pop and RnB charm has surely cemented the way for future chart success
