Joe McElderry wins the X Factor!

After a whole weekend of watching, waiting and voting, Joe McElderry sung his way to victory in the X Factor final.

The eighteen-year-old from Seven Seas, who beat runner-up Olly Murs, will now release the winner's song, The Climb, a track originally sung by Miley Cyrus.

The Climb is now available to download and will be available to buy on CD from Wednesday (16th December). The track is so far the bookies favourite to make it to Christmas number one.

The victory makes it the second consecutive win for mentor Cheryl Cole, after her contestant Alexandra Burke went on to win the show last year.
