Lady Gaga queen of the Brits
Eccentric popstar Lady Gaga stole the show in more ways than one at last night's Brit awards, picking up three gongs for best international female solo artist, best international breakthrough act and best international album for The Fame.
The flamboyant singer kitted out in lace attire, which extended to cover parts of her face, looked genuinely shocked each time her name was announced. On collecting her awards she made a number of tearful acceptance speeches, each time thanking her fans for their continued support.
Boy band JLS were also big winners on the night, scooping two awards for best British breakthrough act and best British single for the track Beat Again.
The most desired award, best album, went to Florence and The Machine for their debut Lungs. The win comes only 12 months since she last graced the Brits stage to pick up the critics choice award.
The spectacular show, hosted by funny man Peter Kay, saw performances from Cheryl Cole, Lily Allen who picked up best British female solo artist, Lady Gaga, JLS, a stunning duet between Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, as well as an appearance from Kasabian who were awarded best British group. In traditional Brits style the collaboration of the night, saw Florence Welsh and Dizzee Rascal team up to sing a version of You've Got The Love.
Liam Gallagher kept up his bad boy image when he was presented with an award for the Brits album of 30 years, for (What's the Story) Morning Glory? His muted acceptance speech was followed by the former Oasis singer throwing his microphone and award in to the crowd.
The end of the evening saw Robbie Williams accept his outstanding contribution award, by performing an impressive medley of his past and current hits, including Let Me Entertain You, Bodies and Angels.
