High demand for 'The Quickening' by Kathryn Williams

It looks as though retailers have been caught off guard by the demand for the newly released album by Kathryn Williams. The CD only went on sale on February 22nd, coinciding with a series of concert dates up and down the UK, but with the one exception of HMV, it has completely sold out. Fans and critics are describing the album as Jenkins best work.

Described in both the folk-rock and country genres, Kathryn's music is difficult to classify. The artist's persona is described in this album, something previous recordings have avoided. The music is gentle, provocative and wonderfully lyrical, with absolutely cracking percussion arrangements, and a voice from a folk singing heaven.
