Tribute to Stephen Gately as Boyzone's album Brother tops the chart
Boyzone's first album release since Stephen Gately passed away has topped the UK album chart. Named in honour of the former boyband member who died whilst on holiday last October, Brother fought off close completion from the Gorillaz comeback album Plastic Beach.
Alicia Keys, hung on to the third spot with Element of Freedom, Amy McDonald bagged the highest new entry at four, with her second studio album A Curious Thing and Lady Gaga's The Fame moved down three places to number five.
Meanwhile, in the singles chart Tinie Tempah clung to the number one spot for a second consecutive week with his debut single 'Pass Out', Rhianna's 'Rude Boy' also stayed put holding onto second place. Whilst Justin Bieber featuring Ludacris grabbed the highest new entry spot at number three with 'Baby', and Ellie Goulding's 'Starry Eyed' kept hold of the fourth spot, pushing Jason Derulo's 'In My Head into fifth position.
New releases this week (15.03.10) battling it out for a place in next Sunday's chart, include Under Great White Northern Lights from The White Stripes, Sweet 7 from the Sugababes, their first album since new girl Jade Ewen joined the band and the Cast of Glee release the second musical instalment from the show, Glee The Music Volume 2.
