Classical BRITs nominations launch takes place tonight

Tonight (Monday 12th April 2010) at a glitzy ceremony at London's Mayfair Hotel, the nominations for the Classical BRIT award categories will be revealed.

An array of big names from the classical music world will gather to hear the nominations announced in the following categories; Male Artist of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Composer of the Year, Soundtrack of the Year, Young British Classical Performer or Group and Critics' Award.

A whole host of stars are set to attend, including The Coldstream Guards, Jack Liebeck and Danielle De Niese, who will perform at the event. Whilst Camilla Kerslake, Rhydian and the Fron Male Voice Choir, who are all nominated for the Classical BRIT album of the year, will also put in an appearance.

Now entering its tenth year, the Classical BRITS honour the achievements of artists and other figures in the classical music industry. Tickets for the  Awards ceremony, which takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on 13th May, are now available to buy.
