Nominations for the Classical BRIT awards 2010 announced
Last night at London's May Fair Hotel, nominations for this year's Classical BRIT awards were revealed. A trio of artists lead the way, with two nominations each. Faryl Smith appears in the Album of the Year and the Young British Classical Performer categories, Antonio Pappano is up for Male Artist of the Year and Critics Award and Howard Goodall has received nominations for Album of the Year and Composer of the Year.
The awards evening to honour the success of those in the classical music industry, will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 13th May. An array of world class artists have been lined up to perform, including violinist Andre Rieu and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, who will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The Classical BRITs will be shown on ITV 1 on Tuesday 18th May at 10.35pm.
