JLS and Scouting For Girls set for Silver Clef Award
It's been announced that boy band JLS and London indie-pop trio Scouting For Girls will each receive a prestigious Nordoff Robbins 02 Silver Clef Award.
JLS who shot to fame in the reality show the X Factor, will collect the Best New Music gong, whilst Scouting For Girls will pick up the Best British Band award.
It was also revealed earlier this month that rockers Muse will be awarded the 02 Silver Clef gong for outstanding contribution to music within the UK. They'll join Elton John, David Bowie, and Pink Floyd who have all been honoured with the award in the past.
The luncheon will take place on Friday 2nd July at London Hilton on Park Lane, music mogul Sharon Osbourne will host the event, which is now entering its 35th year.
As well as honouring the best talent in the music industry, the awards were created to raise funds for the Nordoff-Robbins Centre for Music Therapy, a charity which uses music to transform the lives of those with disabilities. An annual auction, offering music memorabilia that money can't usually buy, will take place at the luncheon in aid of the charity.
The awards consist of nine categories and winners of each of the categories will be honoured at the event, the remaining winners will be revealed over the next few weeks.
