Lady Gaga dominates the MTV Video Music Award Nominations
Thirteen may be unlucky for some, but not for eccentric pop princess Lady Gaga, as she receives thirteen nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards.
The singer-songwriter picks up two nominations in the category for best video of the year, with Telephone and Bad Romance and also receives nods in the categories for best female video, best collaboration, best pop video, best art direction and best choreography, to name just a few.
The three times BRIT winner explained that it's "ironic" and she's "even more proud that it's an unlucky number, 13".
Florence and the Machine's Dog Days Are Over, Kings and Queens from 30 Seconds to Mars, Airplanes by B.o.B and Hayley Williams and Eminem's Not Afraid will also battle it out for the prestigious best video of the year prize.
Eminem follows closely behind Lady Gaga with 8 nominations, the rapper is up for best male video, best hip hop video, best art direction, amongst others.
The Video Music Awards ceremony will take place on 12th September in Los Angeles.
