The Brit Awards 2012 - Update

The Brit Awards 2012 seemed to have less polish and sophistication than an end of term school concert. At least there the star of the show would be roundly applauded and appreciated; not so at The Brits. Our home-grown, incredibly talented, unassuming, beautiful Adele won two awards – British Female Solo Artist and Best Album Award, the most coveted Brit Award and in the middle of her acceptance speech was unceremoniously nudged aside to make room for Blur. There is no disputing that Blur are good and deserved the Outstanding Contribution To Music award but after a rambling speech by Damon Albarn and an 11+minute performance The Brits could well have been renamed The Blur Awards. Shame.

 
Ed Sheeran won British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act, Coldplay won Best Group , Rihanna and Bruno Mars each carried away an International Solo Artist Award. The Best International Group was Foo Fighters and Lana Del Rey was awarded Best International Breakthrough Prize. Emile Sande won the Critics Choice Award.
 
So in spite of an embarrassing finale we sent our congratulations to all the winners at The 2012 Brit Awards but especially to Adele.
 
The winners are-
