Is Dua Lipa best female solo artist at the Brit Awards?

Nominations are out for this year's Brit Awards and some seriously stiff competition exists for the female solo artists. Previous winners Laura Marling and Paloma Faith have been nominated along with first time nominees Jessie Ware and Kate Tempest. Paloma Faith following her release of the new album 'Architect' in November 2017, performed at the Brit award nomination's show with which peaked at number 7 in the download charts and sounds like a 1980's dull disco track. The much sexier sounding album from Laura Marling was released in the form of 'Semper Femina' in March 2017, which was nominated for a Grammy as the well-deserved 'Best Folk Album' and has released the gorgeous 'soothing' as a single. The poet and rapper Kate Tempest received a Mercury Prize in 2017 and Jessie Ware who released 'Glasshouse' in October 2017 could be in with an outside chance to steal the limelight. Jessie, a singer songwriter from London, has a beautifully produced third album which features several collaborations including one with Ed Sheeran and the soundtrack from the film 'me before you'.

Dua Lipa nasal vocals doesnt stand out against the other nominated female artists but has achieved five nominations, compared to Ed Sheerans four. However, he cant be nominated in the newcomer category.Judge for yourself by comparing CD's and Vinyls content and prices here.
